EMPOWHER STEAM

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math

Through our E-STEAM program, we expose girls to STEAM early and often to increase the likelihood they’ll see it as a viable area of study and/or career exploration. For this endeavor we collaborate with dozens of organizations, including Lawrence Livermore Labs; National Museum of Natural History; USC Wrigley Science Center; National Center for Women in Information & Technology and UCLA’s Advancing Women in Science and Engineering (AWiSE).

PROGRAM DETAILS

Although women fill close to half of all jobs in the U.S. economy, they hold less than 29% of all STEM related jobs in America. The stats are even more narrow for BIPOC women, collectively representing just 4.87% of the total STEM workforce. Through our collaborations with companies and organizations, EmpowHer provides our girls with opportunities to participate in STEAM workshops, class projects, summer camps, and conferences.

Our two key E-STEAM programs are:

Empowher social justice steam summer camp
Empowher’s annual girls to greatness teen summit
