GRADES 9-12
The EmpowHer Leaders Academy is a program for girls in 9th-12th grade. The program is taught in local Title I High Schools and in the community on Saturdays. Through weekly sessions, we offer mentorship, college and career guidance, as well as workshops that help build confidence and leadership skills, promote healthy dating relationships, self-care, financial literacy, social entrepreneurship, social justice advocacy and community organizing skills.
Girls can be enrolled in a partnering Title I school to participate in our EmpowHer Leaders Academy OR Apply to attend our Saturday Community Program. We are currently in the following schools:
Environmental Charter High School – Gardena
Alliance Cindy & Bill Simon Technology Academy High School
PROGRAM DETAILS
During EmpowHer Leaders Academy, girls meet weekly for two hours during the school day at our partnering school or on Saturdays in the Community. Girls receive 1-on-1 mentoring with women professionals, build sisterhood among their peers, take part in monthly field trips, and participate in weekly workshops on timely and relevant topics. Girls also have access to college scholarships for high school seniors, paid summer internships (ages 16-18), and a specialized entrepreneurship course that includes seed money and professional mentorship by industry leaders.
